ABOUT THIS PAINTING
For some people the bougainvillea flower means protection and spiritual connection, whilst others see it as a symbol of peace. Other celebrated meanings are abundance, prosperity and passion for relationships.

For me the bougainvillea represents my home city, Bari. During the warm season it is very easy to see this plant climbing the buildings’ walls in Apulia, in the south of Italy. This plant doesn’t need much nutriment but it needs a lot of sunshine, just like me.

MATERIALS: I used Professional Artists’ Oil colours on a 6mm wood panel, sanded, primed and varnished.
