ABOUT THIS PAINTING

I have a deep interest in animals’ behaviours, habits, symbolism and myths. Recently I found out that butterflies can taste with their feet. They have taste receptors on their feet to help them find food. A female butterfly lands on several flowers, tapping the flower with her feet until the plant releases its juice. Mini spines on the back of her legs have chemoreceptors that detect the right match of plant chemicals. When she finds the right flower, she lays her eggs. I think it’s fascinating how nature work and that’s why it’s so inspiring fir me as an Artist.
