ABOUT THIS PAINTING
The hedgehog is not only a nocturnal mammal with a spiny coat and short legs. This beautiful small creature knows how to take care of itself. It packs itself in a neat ball, exposing his lethal quills when it feels threatened. It's also a power animal and connecting with the deeper meaning of the hedgehog will restore your own power supply. The hedgehog is symbolic of fertility and being connected with the earth. Its belly is close to the mother earth and this close proximity is symbolic of its connection to the earth and all that is fertile. Finally, in central Asia it's considered a Solar Animal and it's strongly connected to the energy and vitality of the sun. This may be better understood when we think that hedgehog's splayed spikes look like the spanning rays of the sun 🌞
